The release date for Mortal Kombat 9 on the PlayStation Vita is fast approaching (May 1st) and Warner Bros. decided to build hype for the upcoming addition to the fighting game franchise with a live-action trailer featuring plenty of scantily clad female fighters.

The trailer, which reveals more about the skimpy outfits the game's female characters will wear than about the actual plot or gameplay, begins by striking a serious tone. But the entire thing quickly devolves when Mileena takes the stage. He costume doesn't cover much. Aside from a few pixelated shots the trailer doesn't have much to reveal about actual gameplay, but does offer plenty of cleavage-if you're into that.

The classic fighting game was confirmed for the PS Vita in March, and will be available in the North America on May 1st and Europe on May 4th, according to GameInformer.

Mortal Kombat for the PS Vita will utilize the portable gaming device's touch screen capabilities, particularly for new mini-games. But one of the most anticipated touch-scren advantages will be finger-swiping fatalities, which will bring a new dimension to the fighting franchise.

Mortal Kombat for the PS Vita is based off the reboot launched for consoles last spring, but the new version will include an brand new mode called Challenge Tower, according to EuroGamer. The new mode will feature over 150 missions only available on the PS Vita to choose from. Although there is no crossover with the PS3 version, players will be able to access the DLC characters from the original release.
