Desperate times call for desperate measures! And here’s an example that explains the phrase completely.

A female passenger was spotted drying a pair of her soggy underpants beneath an air vent on a packed, commercial Ural Airlines flight to Moscow, reports said Tuesday.

The unidentified woman, who was flying from Antalya, Turkey, to the Russian capital, was caught on camera waving the underwear around above her head in an attempt to dry them out, mid-flight. Fellow travelers, who had mixed reactions of either being amused and disgusted by the incident, claimed she spent almost around 20 minutes airing out the knickers during the flight.

The incident was recorded on tape, and posted on social media Feb. 16. The viral video was first uploaded to YouTube by a user called The First Tula last week, which garnered over 600,000 views at the time of publishing this story.

Eyewitnesses on the plane told news outlets the woman did not seem remotely embarrassed as she moved her underpants around under the vent, making sure that every inch was being dried properly.

One eyewitness, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: "Everybody was looking with interest and confusion, but everybody remained silent."

After footage of the incident was shared online, the video led to conflicting opinions from people, who began commenting on the unnamed woman’s behavior, the Sun reported.

"Maybe the takeoff was sort of extreme, so now she has to dry those," one person commented.

Another commenter suggested the underwear could have that of her child. "Those aren’t ones of an adult. Looks like they belong to a kid."

"This is not the worst thing in the modern world," some other person also added.

However, there were also people who were not as understanding of the woman’s behavior.

"This woman has the intellect of a dog … This is so sad … Half the country are like her."
