Reggie "Combat Jack" Ossé, reportedly died after a battle with colon cancer, Hot 97 FM reported Wednesday. The Brooklyn native was 48 years old.

The entertainment attorney and host of the Combat Jack Show, a hip-hop podcast, revealed his diagnosis in October on Twitter. Ossé's statement to fans then read:

"Internets, what's up? It's your man Combat Jack. In 7 years of podcasting, I've never missed an episode. I got hit with some real life shit. I was recently diagnosed with Colon Cancer. I was rushed to the hospital, had some pretty severe surgery. I'm on the mend right now. I'm about to jump on this journey to health with chemo and alternative medicine." Take care of your health. Your boy aint going nowhere though. We're gonna keep doing this. Keep rocking' with us. #RaiseTheBar #CombatCancer Let's Go!"

In November he posted a photo of himself on Instagram along with an update on his health and used the opportunity to thank his fans for their support.

During his career, he represented the likes of Jay-Z and Missy Elliott. He started his career in the legal affairs department of Def Jam's business and worked with top artists in the industry, Complex reported.

He got his Juris degree from Georgetown University Law Center, AdWeek reported in a profile about Ossé. He practiced law for more than 10 years before retiring and moving on to a career in media and eventually started his podcast in 2010. In addition to his own podcast, Ossé also started the Loud Speakers Network.

Ossé and his wife, Akim Vann Ossé a tutor and bakery owner, have four children, three boys and one girl.
