“Grey’s Anatomy” fans are worried about Jo. The doctor was seemingly finally on a good path after processing that she’s a child of rape and considering motherhood. Then, her husband Alex Karev left her for another woman. However, actress Camilla Luddington says that Jo is going to have a good arc after such a sudden divorce.

Thursday’s episode showed Jo receiving a letter from Alex (Justin Chambers). He explained that he discovered his ex-wife Izzie (Katherine Heigl) used their embryos to have twins five years ago. He went to Kansas to meet them and realized he is still in love with Izzie, a fact he would’ve moved past if it hadn’t been for the kids. He wants to raise his children with her, and that means sending Jo divorce papers and giving her his shares in the hospital and seat on the board.

Jo read the letter and was paged to go into surgery. Link (Chris Carmack) calls her his hero, and it’s clear that Jo will survive this sudden heartbreak.

When a fan told Luddington on Instagram that they were excited to see what’s next for Jo, the actress teased that she has been getting some great scripts.

“Omg me too!” Luddington replied, according to People. “The scripts for Jo this season are [shocked face emojis]! JUST. WAIT.”

It’s clear that Jo will try to keep her head held high, but there are lots of decisions she needs to make. Does she want to keep Alex’s last name or go back to Wilson, her made-up surname? Perhaps we’ll even learn her real maiden name. She revealed that her name was Brooke Stadler when she was married to Paul (Matt Morrison), but that was her abusive husband’s name. What was she called before that?

Then there’s the matter of Jo suddenly having a seat on the board. That gives her some power in the hospital, and that’s a very different position for her. How is she going to handle that?

Also, since Alex has already moved in with his ex-wife, Jo might feel more inclined to move on quickly. Will she have a new love interest sooner rather than later?

Fans will have to keep watching to find out. “Grey’s Anatomy” airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EDT on ABC.
