Ashlee Simpson is returning to reality TV. Her MTV series, “The Ashlee Simpson Show,” ended in 2005, but her new E! show, “Ashlee + Evan,” launches Sunday night. It’s time to check out what the star has been up to in recent years.

Simpson’s last full-length album, “Bittersweet World,” was released in 2008, the same year she married Pete Wentz and gave birth to her son Bronx Mowgli. However, loyal fans will remember that she continued performing after that. After leaving the “Melrose Place” reboot in 2009, she returned to the role of Roxie Hart on Broadway for several months.

Her next original song didn’t come out until 2012. She departed Geffen Records and released “Bat for a Heart” independently. The song didn’t gain much traction and a fourth solo album was never released.

While her music career was put on pause, Simpson focused on other business efforts. She works with sister Jessica Simpson on her successful fashion collections. Ashlee was named co-creative director for the tween line in 2011. When Jessica became a first-time mom in 2012, Ashlee stepped up to host more events and even model for the women’s line while her sister adjusted to parenthood.

As for her own personal life, Ashlee got divorced in 2011 and remarried in 2014. She wed Evan Ross, son of Diana Ross, and they welcomed their daughter Jagger Snow in July 2015. Ashlee and Evan are blending their personal life with their professional life this year.

Earlier this summer, the two released their unisex clothing line for Zadig & Voltaire, named after their daughter Jagger Snow. They’ve also been working on an album together. The LP is set to be a collection of duets between the two, and that’s why they invited reality show cameras back into their lives.

“Ashlee + Evan” will follow the couple as they find their new sound and balance their careers with their family life. They already released their first single, “I Do,” ahead of Sunday’s one-hour premiere at 10 p.m. EDT, after “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” Season 15. The following five episodes will be a half-hour each.
