On Monday, the palace announced that Amy Pickerill, former Kensington Palace press officer, would be the assistant secretary in Prince Harry's office. She will be working closely with Markle. "[Pickerill] will be working on Meghan Markle's programme," the Kensington Palace spokesman said (via E! News).

1. Education

Pickerill attended the University of Nottingham, England based on her LinkedIn profile. She graduated in 2007 and returned to school at City, University of London to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in broadcast journalism.

2. Experience

Markle's royal aide started as a press secretary for the HM Treasury in London. Prior to working with the royals, she used to work at the Royal Bank of Scotland and Ogilvy Public Relations in Manhattan.

3. History

Pickerill joined the royal family as Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry's senior communication officer in September 2016.

Prior to the palace's announcement, there were talks that Prince Harry poached Pickerill from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. But Pickerill not only works for Prince William and Middleton. She has been working for the royal trio.

Also, according to some sources, Pickerill's change of office has been planned for quite some time already. So there is no conflict among Prince William, Middleton and Prince Harry with Pickerill being Markle's royal aide.

4. Royal Duties

As the "Suits" star's aide, Pickerill will not only help Markle with her programs. She is also expected to assist the future royal in managing her schedule, briefings and general public relations.

5. Start Date

Pickerill has been seen with Markle and Prince Harry on several occasions already. When the princess in waiting and the Duke visited Cardiff, Pickerill was there behind Markle all the time.

When the couple visited Edinburgh Castle in Scotland, the staffer was also with them. Pickerill was seen holding gifts presented to Markle. She has been traveling with Prince Harry and Markle multiple times already.
