Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul faced off Thursday for the last time before the Jan. 31 Florida primary. The four candidates remain in a heated battle to win the GOP presidential nomination in the 2012 election.

The debate took place at the University of North Florida in Jacksonsville and aired on CNN. It was hosted by CNN, the Republican Party of Florida and the Hispanic Leadership Network. Wolf Blitzer of CNN moderated.

Following Gingrich's major win in South Carolina, the Florida race has become increasingly more important in determining who will face President Obama in the November 2012 Election.

According to a CNN/Time/ORC International Poll taken Wednesday, Romney and Gingrich are in a dead heat for the nomination. Prior to the final debate, 36 percent of Florida Republicans said they would vote for Romney as the party's nominee, while 34 percent would offer their support to Gingrich. Santorum is poll at 11 percent with Paul at approximately 9 percent. 7 percent of respondents remain unsure.
