  • Lopez and Rodriguez reportedly remain friends, but she has no plans to see him at this time

Jennifer Lopez is at peace with her decision to end her romantic ties with her ex-fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, a report says.

Lopez and Rodriguez tried to make their relationship work in the past weeks, but they released a joint statement Thursday announcing that their two-year engagement is over. E! News reported, citing an unnamed source close to Lopez, that the former MLB star knew their split was coming because the "On the Floor" singer "has not been happy for a while now."

"Once her trust is broken, there's no turning around," the source told the outlet.

However, this does not mean that the pop diva will cut Rodriguez off completely. "She feels good about her decision because she knows A.Rod will still be in her life, just in a different capacity," the source added.

A-Rod and Lopez are "very cordial" at the moment and plan to remain friends, the source said. However, the "Hustlers" star does not want to see Rodriguez during this time and will be staying in Los Angeles for a while, the insider added.

"He is respecting her wishes right now, but has high hopes they will get back together," the source told the outlet. "He's doing anything in his power to make J.Lo happy."

Rumors surfaced earlier this year that Rodriguez cheated on Lopez with "Southern Charm" star Madison LeCroy. A source close to the former athlete, however, told E! News last month that Rodriguez "doesn't know her and has never met her."

LeCroy previously claimed that she has been in contact with Rodriguez but made it clear that they only talked over the phone. She also shut down rumors that she flew to meet him and said they have "never been physical... never had any kind of anything."

"He’s never physically cheated on his fiancée with me," LeCroy told Page Six at the time.

After news of his and Lopez's split first made headlines in March, Rodriguez immediately flew to the Dominican Republic to spend time with the singer-actress, who has been filming her upcoming movie "Shotgun Wedding" in the country in the past weeks. They were later seen packing on the PDA in their balcony after their reunion.

"Despite all of her previous frustrations with the relationship, Jennifer is still in love with Alex," an anonymous source told E! News at the time.

Page Six reached out to LeCroy on Thursday after Lopez and Rodriguez confirmed that they are no longer together. "I wish them the best," LeCroy said.
