George Clooney and Jack Brooksbank are close friends, but the A-list actor and his wife, Amal Clooney, skipped his wedding to Princess Eugenie on Friday.

According to Daily Mail, the Clooneys were unable to attend the royal event because they were in the United States for two separate engagements. Amal headlined the Pennsylvania Conference for Women in Philadelphia, and George was in Los Angeles for Variety’s Power of Women event.

The couple was photographed during the two separate events while they were speaking in front of the massive crowd. Amal wore a black long-sleeved buttoned-down dress, while Clooney wore a brown suit.

Prior to Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank’s wedding day, reports swirled that the Clooneys will most likely attend the occasion because Brooksbanks works as an ambassador for the tequila company founded by George. The A-listers were also present at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding on May 19.

But despite George and Amal’s absence from the wedding, a slew of over 800 guests made it to Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank’s nuptials. Cara Delevingne, Ellie Goulding, Robbie Williams, Ayda Field, Cressida Bonas, Chelsy Davy, Naomi Campbell, James Blunt, Demi Moore, Kate Moss, Poppy Delevingne, Liv Tyler, Ricky Martin, Jack Whitehall, Stephen Fry, and more were all present at the gathering.

Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank’s respective families also attended their wedding ceremony. Even Prince Philip, who was rumored to skip the special occasion, made it to St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle with his wife, Queen Elizabeth II. They were joined by Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, Markle, Zara Tindall, Philip Phillips, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson, Princess Beatrice, Lady Louise Windsor, and more.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte were also there as a page boy and bridesmaid. However, their younger sibling, Prince Louis, did not attend. Prince Charles also made it to Princess Eugenie’s wedding, but he went without Camilla Parker Bowles. The Duchess of Cornwall was in Scotland for an official engagement.
