“The Hills” was Lauren Conrad’s “Laguna Beach” spinoff until Kristin Cavallari stepped in, but neither will star in the reboot. “The Hills: New Beginnings” will launch without the former leading ladies.

An insider told People that LC just has other priorities these days. “She loves being a mother and focusing on her family and on her work,” the source said. “She has a very full and happy life.”

Conrad married musician William Tell in September 2014 and gave birth to son Liam in July 2017. She also has plenty going on in her professional life. She has been working on her clothing line at Kohl’s for nearly a decade, and her brand there has expanded to include home goods, swimwear and shoes.

She also has her first brick and mortar store opening in September in Pacific Palisades, California. The Little Market is also a marketplace (first started online) that was founded by Conrad and Hannah Skvarla. Every purchase from the non-profit, fair trade shop helps women artisans in impoverished communities.

In addition to her nine books, Conrad is also Editor-In-Chief of her lifestyle website.

Obviously, the former “Hills” star is a little busy. Still, it sounds like she supports everyone who signed on for the MTV reboot.

“She’s in a different place in her life,” the insider explained. “But she wants everyone to enjoy themselves. She wishes everyone the best.”

When Conrad left “The Hills,” Kristin Cavallari stepped in as the new leading lady. She won’t be in the reboot either. The “True Roots” author has been vocal about wanting to participate in a “Hills” reunion, but her deal with E!, where “Very Cavallari” airs, likely prevents her from being on a non-NBC-owned network.

Cavallari’s new show focuses on her and her staff opening the first brick and mortar store for her brand, Uncommon James. While the mother of three is the star, the drama comes from the personal lives of her young staff. It also films in Nashville, Tennessee, where Cavallari lives with husband Jay Cutler. That would create another problem since “The Hills” takes place in Los Angeles.

“The Hills” reboot will focus on the supporting cast members. Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Jason Wahler, Frankie Delgado, Justin Bobby Brescia and Stephanie Pratt will be on the new series. Us Weekly claims that the cast will expand with “a celebrity” and “two bloggers.”

“The Hills: New Beginnings” is expected to premiere in 2019.
