Pippa Middleton did not want to invite Meghan Markle to her wedding.

In 2017, Kate Middleton’s sister tied the knot with James Matthews. Pippa invited Prince Harry to the event, but she was reportedly reluctant to invite his then-girlfriend Markle.

Some critics believed that it was due to how Markle affected Prince Harry and Middleton’s relationship. The Duke of Sussex was very close to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge before he met Markle.

Prince William, Middleton and Prince Harry used to attend royal engagements together. They were photographed laughing and enjoying each other’s company. However, when he started dating Markle, it sparked friction between him and his older brother, Prince William, and Middleton. The said incident reportedly affected Pippa’s decision to not invite Markle, Express reported.

Some claimed that Pippa didn’t want Markle to be there because she was afraid that the former “Suits” star would overshadow her. Markle skipped the wedding ceremony, but she attended the evening reception. Prince Harry even made a 50-mile dash to Kensington Palace to fetch her for the celebration.

Previous reports also claimed that Pippa and Markle don’t get along well with each other. Pippa reportedly sees the Duchess of Sussex as someone hurtful to her sister. She allegedly felt that Markle was constantly trying to outshine Middleton.

Aside from Pippa’s loyalty to her sibling, the Duchess of Cambridge, she had personal beef with Markle when the latter attempted to turn her against her sister-in-law, Vogue Williams.

“Pippa is now outwardly furious and speaking her mind publicly about her dislike for Meghan. Pippa has had mutual friends turn against her because of Meghan and her rumours and her ‘divide and conquer’ mentality towards their social circles, which cross over,” an insider said.

“Vogue Williams originally heard rumours that Pippa thought she was too low class to join their clique. Pippa would never think that way,” the source added.

In related news, according to royal expert Duncan Larcombe, Pippa and Markle share a lot of things in common. He said that the two have the same temperament, personality and bubbliness. They are also both determined to stay fit and love to mix with celebrity circles.
