Queen Elizabeth has reportedly made a decision regarding the royals’ summer vacation in Balmoral this year.

A source recently told Vanity Fair that Her Majesty agreed to host Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at her home, but she advised Prince William and Kate Middleton to stay elsewhere.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be staying in a cottage in the grounds of Balmoral with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Her Majesty’s decision heightened rumors that she’s playing favorites and she’s taking the side of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. There have also been ongoing claims that the Cambridges and the Sussexes are at odds with each other.

However, the source explained that the monarch’s decision had nothing to do with the royal couples’ alleged rift. The 93-year-old royal didn’t also pick sides. Rather, she refused to host Prince William and Middleton at Balmoral Castle because it would ease pressures at her home.

Since all of the royals come together at Balmoral during the summer, things can get pretty hectic inside Her Majesty’s property. Instead of relaxing, the members of the British clan follow a strict schedule.

“It can get quite busy at what they call “the big house”, and it’s not especially relaxing even though it’s a holiday. There’s a daily routine which revolves around mealtimes, several outfit changes every day, sometimes five, and the Queen likes everything to run like clockwork… The focus is on being outdoors and in the countryside walking, grousing, fishing and hunting,” the source said.

Meanwhile, it is also possible that the Queen decided to host Prince Harry and Markle at Balmoral this year because they are one of the newest couples in the family. Additionally, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son is just 3 months old, and Archie won’t be roaming around inside the premises.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis may be too energetic for Her Majesty’s taste.
