‘Big Bang Theory’
How will Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) handle life as new parents in “Big Bang Theory” Season 10, episode 11? CBS

“Big Bang Theory” Season 10 will not air a new episode on Thursday, Dec. 8, but fans won’t have to wait until January to find out what happens next to the characters.

In Season 10, episode 11, Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Howard (Simon Helberg) will welcome their first child together. Ever since the couple found out that they were expecting, Howard has been worried about how to be the best father for his child since he didn’t grow up with one. Howard’s dad, Sam, left him when he was just 11 years old. When he turned 18, Sam wrote a letter to Howard, and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) found it years later inside Howard’s closet.

The Birthday Synchronicity” will also see Amy (Mayim Bialik) attempt to get her boyfriend in the mood for sex. Last year, Amy and Sheldon engaged in their first coitus ever as a couple. At the time, the couple agreed to have sex at least once a year on Amy’s birthday. Unfortunately, it may not happen this year since everyone will be preoccupied with the arrival of Bernadette and Howard’s baby.

While speaking with Variety, executive producer Steve Molaro explained why they initially wanted Amy and Sheldon to have sex only once a year. “As far as this being some sort of sellout or giant shift in the character, I think it’s lines like that that allow us to have such a momentous occasion, but it still can feel very much like Sheldon and Amy – Sheldon saying that we did this thing, but we’re only going to do it once a year is an example of us holding the character intact, even when something this monumental happens,” he said.

“Big Bang Theory” Season 10, episode 11 will air on CBS on Dec. 15 at 8 p.m. EST.
