Sunday night may have featured the best WWE Pay-Per-View of the year. SummerSlam 2013 took place in Los Angeles and included some of the more memorable matches in recent memory.

There were only two titles on the line, with one belt changing hands. The PPV did, however, feature multiple heel turns.

Below are the complete results from SummerSlam 2013, as well as a recap for each match. The match card included seven contests on the PPV and one on the pre-show.

Daniel Bryan OVER WWE Champion John Cena

With the Staples Center crowd firmly behind Bryan, the “wrestler” defeated the “entertainer” for his first ever WWE title. Bryan pinned Cena after a running kick to the face and was alive the match after surviving an Attitude Adjustment. Bryan’s title reign was short-lived, though, since he was pinned by Orton, who cashed in his Money in the Bank contract. Bryan was defenseless after he received a Pedigree from special guest referee Triple H.

Brock Lesnar OVER CM Punk

In what was probably the match of the night, Lesnar won the contest between the “best” and the “beast.” Punk appeared to have the fight won after he hit the former UFC champion with a GTS. Paul Heyman broke up the pin, which was legal since the match was given the stipulation of “No DQ” before the start of the PPV. Punk was able to put Heyman in the Anaconda Vice, but the distraction helped Lesnar hit his opponent with an F5 and pick up the win.

World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio OVER Christian

Del Rio retained his title at a second straight PPV, forcing Christian to tap to the cross-arm breaker. It appeared Christian was going to pin the champion after hitting him with a spear. However, the challenger’s shoulder was hurt, which didn’t allow him to cover the champ.

Bray Wyatt OVER Kane (Ring of Fire Match)

Wyatt was victorious in his first ever PPV match, with help from Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. The members of the Wyatt Family put out flames with a blanket, allowing them to enter the ring and help their leader get the win. Afterwards, the trio carried Kane to the back, which could lead to the Big Red Monster turning heel and joining the group.

Cody Rhodes OVER Damien Sandow

Sandow may have the Money in the Bank contract, but Rhodes got a measure of revenge on Sunday with a win at SummerSlam. A CrossRhodes did Sandow in, who immediately ran over to grab his briefcase after the loss.

Dolph Ziggler & Kaitlyn OVER Big E Langston & Divas Champion AJ Lee

Ziggler and Kaitlyn got some payback against their rivals with a win at the PPV. The former World Heavyweight champion got the pin after hitting Langston with a Zig Zag.

Natalya OVER Brie Bella

With the stars of “Total Divas” in and around the ring, Natalya got the win in, probably, the least exciting match of the night. The Funkadactyls made sure that Eva Marie and Nikki Bella were unable to get involved, as Natalya made Brie tap out with a sharpshooter.

United States Champion Dean Ambrose vs. Rob Van Dam (Kickoff Match)

RVD got the win in his first singles PPV match since his return to the WWE, but the title remains with Ambrose. Van Dam was ready to pin the U.S. champion, following a Five-Star Frog Splash. Roman Reigns interfered and hit RVD with a spear, forcing the match to end because of a disqualification.
