WWE 2K14 Roster And Official Trailer: Is This The Best Wrestling Video Game Ever? [Preview]

Details for the next WWE video game have finally been revealed. WWE 2K14 is set to be released on Nov.1 for Xbox 360 and PS3, and features some of the biggest current superstars, as well as great wrestlers of the past.

The video game’s roster includes 48 characters, including 16 current WWE superstars. John Cena, Daniel Bryan, current WWE champion Randy Orton and Dolph Ziggler highlight the list of active superstars that will appear in the game. Darren Young also made the cut, following his recent announcement that he is gay.

"We'd like to congratulate [Darren Young] on his brave personal announcement and welcome him to the WWE 2K14 roster," 2K tweeted. Young, whose real name is Fredrick Rosser, revealed his sexuality to TMZ last week, making him the only active openly gay wrestler in the company.

The most intriguing feature of WWE 2K14 is the “30 Years of WrestleMania” mode. In it, gamers can relive the most exciting moments of the WWE’s biggest Pay-Per-View. In 2014, the 30th annual WrestleMania will be held in New Orleans.

The WrestleMania mode includes 45 matches over the past three decades. All-time great matches that star Hulk Hogan, like title fights against Andre the Giant and the Ultimate Warrior, and his WrestleMania 18 match with The Rock, can be relived in the game.

Last October, CM Punk graced the cover of WWE ’13, which received positive reviews. While WWE 2K14, which has The Rock on its cover, focuses on past WrestleMania’s, WWE ’13 allowed fans to relive the “Attitude Era.”

Below is the complete list of wrestlers in the game, all the way from Alberto Del Rio to Yokozuna, as well as the official trailer for WWE 2K14. Multiple superstars, like The Undertaker as the American Badass and Hulk Hogan as a member of the NWO, are in the game twice with different gimmicks.
