WWE Battleground 2014 took place Sunday in Tampa Bay, Florida, marking the seventh pay-per-view of the year. The event featured eight matches, included the pre-show and saw the crowning of a new champion.

One of the more highly anticipated matches of the PPV did not go off as planned. Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins had been scheduled on the match card, but Triple H forced Ambrose to forfeit, following a backstage brawl. The former members of The Shield fought a few more times, before the PPV went off the air.

Daniel Bryan did not appear on the PPV, as he continues to recover from neck surgery. Brock Lesnar did not make an appearance, as many had predicted.

Below are the complete results from Battleground 2014, as well as a recap for each match.

John Cena Wins Fatal 4-Way (WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match)

To the surprise of very few, Cena retained the title, pinning Kane after an Attitude Adjustment sent Randy Orton on top of an already beaten Kane. Roman Reigns left the match looking strong, hitting several spears. However, an RKO from Orton incapacitated him temporarily, allowing Cena to get the victory.

Rusev OVER Jack Swagger

The feud will likely continue into SummerSlam, as Rusev was only able to get the victory via count out. Swagger was in control of the match toward the end, and knocked Rusev out of the ring. The Real American had Rusev in the Patriot Lock, but was thrown into the steel steps. The Bulgarian Brute got back in the ring just in time to be named the winner.

Chris Jericho OVER Bray Wyatt

Jericho got a clean victory, giving Wyatt a Codebreaker. He was able to win without interference after Luke Harper and Erick Rowan were ejected from ringside.

The Usos OVER The Wyatt Family (2-out-of-3 Falls Tag Team Title Match)

The match opened the show and was the highlight of the night. After losing the first fall, the Usos came back with two straight pins to retain their titles. A Double Frog Splash to Luke Harper ended the match.

AJ Lee OVER Paige (Divas Championship Match)

AJ retained the title in a feud that will likely continue to SummerSlam. Paige escaped the Black Widow, while AJ withstood the Paige Turner and the PTO. In the end, it was a Shining Wizard that got the win for AJ.

The Miz Wins Battleground Battle Royal (Intercontinental Championship Match)

It appeared that Dolph Ziggler would be crowned the next Intercontinental Champion after he knocked Sheamus over the top rope and seemingly won the title. However, The Miz had been waiting outside the ring, having crawled underneath the bottom rope, and unsuspectingly knocked out Ziggler to get the title.

Cameron OVER Naomi (Kickoff Match)

Cameron got the rollup victory in what will likely be the last PPV match between the former Funkadactyls.

Adam Rose OVER Fandango (Kickoff Match)

In a late addition to the pre-show, Rose beat Fandango with Layla and Summer Rae at ringside.
