KEY POINTS

  • Braun Strowman is a former Universal Champion
  • Roman Reigns has held the Universal title for over 800 days
  • Reigns' next fight is not revealed yet

WWE SmackDown star Braun Strowman is confident he can dethrone undisputed champion Roman Reigns.

The Tribal Chief has not lost a singles match since 2019. Reigns clinched the Universal Championship by beating Bray Wyatt and Strowman in a No Holds Barred Triple Threat match at Payback.

After working with WWE for seven years, Strowman, along with Wyatt, was released as a part of budget cuts during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he returned to the company this year.

Reigns, meanwhile, has been the Universal Champion for over 800 days. He defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 in April and became the Undisputed WWE and Universal Champion.

During his run, Reigns has defeated some of WWE's biggest names, from Daniel Bryan, Edge and Drew McIntyre to Lesnar. Although the Head of the Table had faced Strowman on many occasions in the past, the two are yet to have a feud over the belt since the latter's return.

The one-time Universal champion said his biggest target in the coming months is Reigns.

"Any opportunity that I'm given with this company to go out there and represent, I'm going to take life by the horn and I'm going to wrestle that bull and do whatever I need to do to just continue to lay myself in the history books as the best big man to ever do this," The Monster told Toronto Sun.

Strowman went on to add he was the "monster of all monsters for a reason" and that he would feel sorry for any opponent of his.

"I feel sorry for the competition because it's not fair. Look at me and look at a lot of the guys that I get to step in the ring with. I wouldn't want to have to fight me," the WWE star added. "Any opportunity I have to go out there and get that chance at winning, getting that opportunity at the title. I mean, let's be real, it's about time somebody takes those things off Roman Reigns' hands. The monster just might have to be the guy to do it."

Reigns missed the latest Monday Night RAW because he was in Los Angeles at the time. It is still uncertain when he will take the ring next.
