  • CM Punk confirms he will return on Jan. 21
  • After being away from WWE for five years, he made a random appearance in November
  • CM Punk has been taking active interest in WWE's current storyline

Former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion CM Punk, who has not appeared on the WWE Backstage show FS1 show for a while, has confirmed his return date.

The WWE Backstage analyst and special contributor revealed Tuesday that he will return to the show on Jan. 21st' episode.

CM Punk gave out the most-awaited information through a tweet, which was directed toward a news report that suggested that the wrestler won’t be appearing further on the FS1 show.

On the final Monday Night RAW episode of 2019, one of the segments saw a brawl involving the new team of Seth Rollins and the Authors of Pain (AOP) against Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens. At one point, everyone saw a brutal Owens hit a Senton on Rollins, AOP, and the security at the ringside.

CM Punk evidently was not delighted with what had happened as he shared his views through his official Twitter account. The former champion, who has not fought in the WWE for almost five years now, made it clear he does not like the idea of spots like the one that took place on Monday Night RAW episode, where a group of people just stood on the floor while a wrestler jumped on them.

He then went on to challenge the WWE Company to discontinue the move and "leave it in this decade.”

Punk, who left the WWE on bad terms five years back following his loss in the Royal Rumble 2014 match to Batista, is also a professional boxer. For a while, Punk did not talk much about his exit before he finally spoke about it months later in an episode of "Art of Wrestling", hosted by his best friend at the time, Colt Cabana.

He made a random appearance at the WWE Backstage episode in November and ever since then, he has been actively taking interest in the current WWE storyline. Meanwhile, regarding a possible return to WWE ring, CM Punk said it is “a bridge that is gonna have to be built.”
