  • Paul Heyman has compared Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar's drawing power to The Undertaker and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin
  • Reigns became must-see TV after he turned heel, while Lesnar's face-turn was loved by pro wrestling fans
  • Reigns and Lesnar will have a title-versus-title match at WrestleMania 38

WWE is relying heavily on Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar to draw in attention to the product for WrestleMania 38, and Paul Heyman explained just how big their star power is.

The famed pro wrestling personality recently went on “The Zaslow Show” to discuss the pair’s ability to become must-see TV, even comparing Reigns and Lesnar to two well-loved WWE legends.

“I don’t know how you could be in a room with Mark [Calaway], The Undertaker, and not understand this guy is very, very special. I don’t understand how you could walk into a room with Steve Austin and not say to yourself, ‘Woah, there’s something very different about this athlete.’ Same way with Brock Lesnar, the same way with Roman Reigns. These are extraordinary human beings with the ‘it factor' that everybody always talks about,” said Heyman.

His assessment makes sense in a general way because Lesnar and Reigns have taken the main event spotlight away from John Cena in recent years as the 16-time world champion has been busy with his acting career.

Reigns has been groomed by WWE to be its next torch bearer since the dissolution of The Shield back in June 2014, with fans booing him at every turn since they felt that he was being pushed to the moon while bypassing other deserving superstars like recent free-agent Cesaro.

It was only during the Thunderdome era at the height of the global pandemic did fans accept Reigns as the face of the company after a long-overdue heel turn that saw him take up the “Tribal Chief” gimmick.

As for Lesnar, his foray into mixed martial arts (MMA) in the late 2000s legitimized him in the eyes of many as not just a “pretend fighter” in pro wrestling, but a man who can beat his opponents whenever they wanted to.

While many have grown tired with the matchup of Reigns and Lesnar at WrestleMania, the higher stakes and changes between both men have raised the stakes.

The main event of Night 2 will be a winner-takes-all match between the two athletes, but this time Reigns is the clear heel that will do whatever it takes to win.

Meanwhile, Lesnar is the in-betweener who acts of his own accord, free of Heyman’s direction (on-screen).

With Lesnar being the favorite as fans have grown attached to this newer version of him, this year’s WrestleMania Night 2 headliner becomes a must-watch match.
