There is still one pay-per-view left before WWE’s biggest event of the summer, but the card for SummerSlam 2016 is already falling into place. Brock Lesnar’s opponent has already been announced, and it isn’t difficult to figure out who some of the other top names in WWE will be facing.

Prior to defeating Mark Hunt in his return to the octagon at UFC 200, it was announced that Lesnar would face Randy Orton at SummerSlam. Lesnar and Orton are two of the biggest names in WWE, though neither one has wrestled in quite some time. Lesnar hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since he defeated Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania 32, and Orton has yet to wrestle in 2016.

Just as Lesnar’s match is guaranteed to be one of SummerSlam’s “main events,” so is whatever match John Cena is in. It would come as a pretty big surprise if the face of WWE doesn’t take on AJ Styles at the Aug. 21 PPV in Brooklyn.

Cena faced Styles in a singles match at Money in the Bank last month, but The Club interfered and allowed Styles to get the victory. Cena will team up with Enzo Amore and Big Cass to take on Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson at WWE Battleground on July 24. No matter the result of the match, the feud between Cena and Styles should continue and come to a head at SummerSlam.

While the matches involving Lesnar and Cena will be near the top of the card, they aren’t likely to go on last. That will be reserved for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match, which will almost certainly include at least two of the former members of The Shield.

Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns will fight in a triple threat match for the title at WWE Battleground. There have been rumors that WWE discussed a singles match between Reigns and Rollins for SummerSlam, though it’s unknown if Reigns’ recent suspension might have altered that plan. Either way, it’s hard to believe that at least two former Shield members won’t fight in the closing match at SummerSlam.

Other likely matches include Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte for the WWE Women’s Championship and The New Day vs. The Wyatt Family for the Tag Team Championships. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens will face off at Battleground, but they’ve been feuding for nearly two years in NXT and WWE, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them square off again at SummerSlam.

Lesnar has been in the main event of SummerSlam in each of the past two years. He defeated Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 2014 and lost to The Undertaker last year.
