Night of Champions 2014 was built around the rematch between Brock Lesnar and John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. While Lesnar didn’t get the dominant win that he got at SummerSlam, he still holds the title, going into the next pay-per-view.

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins were scheduled to have a match on Sunday. However, Reigns was unable to compete, following emergency surgery for an incarcerated hernia. Rollins issued an open challenge to any WWE superstar, and was attacked by Dean Ambrose, who hadn’t been on WWE TV in a month. The two were separated by WWE officials, and Ambrose was carried to the back.

It was the first time in over a year that Reigns didn’t compete at a PPV. Bray Wyatt was also nowhere to be found, which is a rarity for him, as well.

Below are the complete results from Night of Champions 2014, as well as a recap for each match.

John Cena OVER Brock Lesnar (WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match)

Cena may have won the match, but the title didn’t change hands. Seth Rollins interfered when Cena had Lesnar pinned, following a fourth Attitude Adjustment. The former Shield member hit Lesnar with a Curb Stomp and was ready to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase, until Cena chased him out of the ring. Lesnar had been dominant for much of the match, but Cena appeared to be on the verge of winning. It could mean that the feud finally gets settled at Hell in a Cell next month.

The Miz OVER Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Championship Match)

Ziggler’s title reign didn’t last very long, as the Miz won the belt back after losing it at SummerSlam. Damien Sandow distracted Ziggler, which allowed Miz to roll up Ziggler for the victory. R-truth had been in Ziggler's corner, but he was gone, having chased Sandow to the back earlier in the match.

Sheamus OVER Cesaro (United States Championship Match)

The U.S Title match may have ended up being the most entertaining on the card. Sheamus was the only champ that won his match at Night of Champions, beating Cesaro with a Brogue Kick.

Goldust & Stardust OVER The Usos (Tag Team Championship Match)

After 202 days, WWE has a new set of tag team champions. Stardust got the pin, rolling up Jey Uso, who missed an attempt at a top rope splash. Almost a year ago, Goldust and Cody Rhodes won the titles for the first time as a team. Now, the two brothers begin their first run as heel champions.

AJ Lee OVER Paige and Nikki Bella (Divas Championship Match)

Much like The Miz, AJ won her title back after losing it at SummerSlam. She forced Paige to tap out to her Black Widow submission.

Rusev OVER Mark Henry

Rusev continued his dominance by making Henry tap out to the Accolade. The match had gotten a significant build, as Rusev and Henry concluded the last episode of “Monday Night Raw.”

Randy Orton OVER Chris Jericho

Orton beat Jericho with an RKO, as Jericho attempted to hit Orton off the top rope. It’s Jericho’s last appearance on WWE TV in his current stint with the company, which began in July.
