Brock Lesnar may be the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Universal champion, but the "Beast Incarnate" is not a regular member of the roster as he only makes one-off appearances. He rarely appears on the live televised events – RAW and SmackDown – with most of his fights being scheduled for the major pay-per-view events.

Lesnar’s last competitive appearance was at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view when he defeated Finn Balor to retain the Universal championship. He missed the next two major events – Elimination Chamber and Fastlane – and will return for his championship match against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 25 in April.

The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion’s long-term future in WWE remains unclear after he was not part of the advertising for Summer Slam. Multiple reports indicated he could return to UFC post WrestleMania where he is expected to drop his title to Rollins.

However, according to Ringside News, a recent advertisement for SmackDown Live, who is moving to the Fox Network from October showed the "Beast Incarnate" as part of the blue brand. That proves that he is unlikely to be the champion when October rolls around and he will also have plenty of time to return to UFC after WrestleMania and then make his return on SmackDown in October.

WWE chairman Vince McMahon is clear that Lesnar is one of his top talents and despite not being a regular on the roster, McMahon regards the former UFC heavyweight champion highly and will want to keep him contracted to the WWE for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, the road to WrestleMania is well underway with multiple matches already scheduled for the flagship pay-per-view event on April 7 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. However, a number of WWE legends still remain unscheduled.

Kurt Angle revealed recently that his final fight will be at WrestleMania, but the promotion is yet to decide on an opponent for the former WWE champion. John Cena is also likely to return for the biggest event on WWE’s calendar but is also without an opponent.

Recent reports suggested that the two WWE legends could face each other, but Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, via Ringside News, believes they could have other “great opponents” rather than facing each other. Angle has been having an on-and-off spat with Baron Corbin, while a storyline for Cena is yet to be written owing to his two-month absence from the squared circle.
