  • AJ Styles and Randy Orton are possible opponents of the Rated-R Superstar in future pay per views to come

The Rated-R Superstar made his shocking return to the WWE last Sunday with a surprise entry to the 2020 Royal Rumble. The 21st participant in the annual over-the-top-rope match sent a message to all the WWE Superstars sending spears to everyone in the ring. He was able to eliminate three other wrestlers in the match before being beaten by Roman Reigns.

Edge is known to be a sensational talent in the ring coupled with exceptional mic skills. He was a table, ladders and chairs specialist in the tag team ranks before transitioning to singles competition.

He has been out of the ring since 2011 after retiring due to a career-ending injury. He was diagnosed with cervical spinal stenosis as the doctors were forced to not clear the former World Heavyweight Champion from competing. With the risk of neck-down paralysis, the Ultimate Opportunist had to, unfortunately, hang up his boots and in competition.

With his return to the Royal Rumble, Edge is set to continue his performance in the ring. He reportedly signed a three-year contract with the company and can be suited up for other feuds.

One possible rival is one half of Rated RKO Randy Orton. The WWE Universe had a taste of the two teaming up again in the Royal Rumble match with shades of their days as tag team champions. It all came to an end when Edge saw Randy Orton slither behind him into an RKO position – triggering Edge to eliminate his former partner. This could be a setup to a Wrestlemania feud between the two.

Another possibility is AJ Styles who appeared to have injured his shoulder when he was speared by Edge. As he braced impact on Edge’s signature move, he was landed awkwardly on the mat, asking the officials and doctors to prematurely eliminate him in the match. He was immediately eliminated by Edge after.

If AJ Styles recovers soon enough he might be slated as Edge’s opponent for Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia on February 27.
