  • The WWE announced that Goldberg will make his return this Friday
  • Goldberg is set to compete in the ring for Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia
  • Either Bray Wyatt, King Corbin or The Undertaker are speculated to be his opponent

The WWE announced last Monday that Goldberg would make his return to the ring. It was a video promo with his classic line “Who’s next” that revealed his appearance to Friday Night SmackDown.

With his return to the WWE, this sets up a potential feud in the upcoming pay per view Super ShowDown. Per Ringside News, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio confirmed that the former WCW champion is participating in the event. Super ShowDown has scheduled this February 27 in Saudi Arabia.

While there have been no clear opponents yet for Goldberg, there have been speculations already making the rounds online. One of them is the current WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt.

The Fiend has been on a tear lately as the top superstar of the SmackDown brand. This could be a possible matchup to draw hype for the upcoming pay per view in Saudi Arabia. Per Sportskeeda, although it might not make sense on paper, booking Goldberg against Bray Wyatt may be the biggest match they can put in the card.

Other speculations include King Corbin who is currently in a feud with The Usos and Roman Reigns. He was last seen humiliated when he was handcuffed and drenched in dog food in the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

It might possibly be a rematch of last year’s matchup with Goldberg and Undertaker. The two had a feud in the 2019 Super ShowDown where The Phenom won care of a chokeslam.

The WWE Universe will have to wait this Friday for possible leads on the former World Heavyweight Champion’s opponent. It might be Bray Wyatt, King Corbin, or The Undertaker but it can also be a younger superstar ready for a massive push in the company.

Goldberg has been an icon in the wrestling industry. He continues to be booked as a dominant force inside the ring. The master of the spear and the jackhammer has won multiple accolades as a wrestler and has been one of the more successful performers inside the ring.
