It’s been clear for weeks that Daniel Bryan will defend his WWE Championship against Kofi Kingston at WrestleMania 35, though the match hasn’t been made official just yet. On “SmackDown Live,” Vince McMahon continues to do everything in his power to prevent the New Day superstar from competing for the title on WWE’s biggest stage.

If the storyline and the rumors weren’t enough of an indication that Kingtson would get a world championship shot, a potential spoiler might have all but confirmed the match. An Instagram ad appears to have advertised Bryan vs. Kingston for the event that’s set to take place at MetLife Stadium in less than two weeks.

It looked like Kingston was going to officially earn his match with Bryan last Tuesday. He defeated Rowan, Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Cesaro and Sheamus in a gauntlet match.

All of that was supposed to guarantee Kingston a spot on the WrestleMania 35 card, but McMahon announced that he would also need to beat Bryan. Bryan pinned Kingston to end “SmackDown Live,” seemingly ending his chances of fighting for the blue brand’s top belt.

No “SmackDown Live” babyface has gained more momentum in 2019 than Kingston. He received a standing ovation from the crowd at Elimination Chamber when he became the last wrestler to be pinned in the six-man title match.

Kingston was originally supposed to challenge Bryan at Fastlane a few weeks later, but McMahon replaced him with a returning Kevin Owens.

It would be very surprising at this point if Kingston doesn’t take the WWE Championship from Bryan at WrestleMania 35.
