The WWE SummerSlam 2017 card is almost complete with less than two weeks remaining until the pay-per-view gets underway at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. While the top stars on “Monday Night Raw” and “SmackDown Live” know who their opponents will be, one championship match has yet to be determined.

John Cena will face Baron Corbin, following their encounter in the aftermath of last week’s No.1 contender match for the WWE Championship. Cena was beaten clean by Shinsuke Nakamura, and the Japanese wrestler star will challenge Jinder Mahal for the blue brand’s top title. Brock Lesnar will defend his WWE Universal Championship in a fatal 4-way against Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe.

The Raw Women’s Championship Match is still up in the air because of recent injury news. Bayley was supposed to challenge Alexa Bliss for the belt, but she hurt her shoulder and was pulled from the card. Having both won triple threat matches following Bayley’s announcement, Sasha Banks and Nia Jax will go head-to-head six days before SummerSlam to determine Bliss’ new opponent.

Sasha is the obvious choice to win the No.1 contender match on the upcoming episode of “Monday Night Raw.” She’s still a babyface, and Jax has been a heel during her whole time on the main roster. With Bayley originally scheduled to face Bliss at SummerSlam, it’s hard to believe that WWE will replace that match with one that includes two heels.

Bliss is the only wrestler to have held both the Raw Women’s Championship and the SmackDown Women’s Championship. She lost the SmackDown belt at WrestleMania 33 to Naomi, only to defeat Bayley for the Raw Women’s Title a few weeks later. Bliss is 2-0 against Bayley in title matches.

Naomi has held the title ever since WrestleMania 33, though her title defenses on PPV have been non-existent. SummerSlam will mark the first time she puts her belt on the line, and the champ will do so against Natalya.

Like Bliss, Raw Tag Team Champions Sheamus and Cesaro are without an opponent for SummerSlam, though it’s pretty clear who they’ll be facing on Aug. 20. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose will likely team up in the title match.

WWE has been teasing a potential reunion between the two former Shield members for weeks, and they will undoubtedly officially form a team at SummerSlam. It could lead to a full blown Shield reunion after SummerSlam if Reigns doesn’t become the new WWE Universal Champion.

The Shield broke up three years ago, and a reunion makes sense since all three former members are currently babyfaces. Rollins and Reigns held the WWE Tag Team Championships for 148 days in 2013.

The New Day will defend their SmackDown Tag Team Championships against The Usos at SummerSlam. The teams have already faced off at both Battleground and Money in the Bank.

The entire SummerSlam card should be known after Tuesday’s episode of “SmackDown Live.” There were 13 matches on the SummerSlam 2016 card, and this year could very well be the same.
