The perception of the XFL’s top teams has changed significantly after just one week. There’s a new favorite to win the 2020 championship heading into Week 2.

The DC Defenders lead the way with +300 betting odds, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. The Defenders ranked fourth among the league’s eight teams in Week 1 with +500 title odds. That changed with DC’s 31-19 victory over the Seattle Dragons in the season opener.

The New York Guardians are second with +400 odds. New York beat the Tampa Bay Vipers 23-3, allowing the fewest points in Week 1.

The Houston Roughnecks tied the Guardians with the biggest margin of victory, defeating the Los Angeles Wildcats 37-17. Quarterback P.J. Walker might have been the most impressive player of the weekend with 292 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. Houston’s +500 title odds remain the same as they were before the season kicked off.

The Dallas Renegades were the preseason favorites with +300 odds to win the XFL Championship. Those odds have plummeted to +700 after just one loss. Quarterback Landry Jones didn’t play in the 15-9 defeat at the hands of the St. Louis BattleHawks because of a knee injury. He’s expected to start in Week 2.

St. Louis has the same title odds as Dallas, following the biggest upset of Week 1. BattleHawks quarterback Jordan Ta’amu had 286 scrimmage yards and a 108.4 passer rating.

Tampa Bay has +700 odds, as well. The Vipers lead the league in total offense but are dead last in points scored.

Los Angeles has +1000 championship odds. Starting quarterback Josh Johnson missed the opener with a thigh injury.

Seattle is the biggest long shot with +1400 odds.
