Xiaomi Redmi 3S vs. Meizu M3S: Comparison Of Specifications, Features, Price

Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Meizu M3S are the newly announced budget smartphones. Both the smartphones carry similar specs and pricing. Here is a comparison of the specifications, features, and price between Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Meizu M3S.

Design and Display

The Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Meizu M3S are budget phones that boast sleek appeal through their full metal unibody design. The Redmi 3S measures 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5 mm and it weighs 144 grams. It comes in colors like gold, gray and silver.

The Meizu M3S is slimmer and lighter than Redmi 3S as it measures 141.9 x 69.9 x 8.3 mm and weighs 138 grams. It comes in four color choices of silver, gray, pink and gold. Both the smartphones feature 5-inch IPS LCD screens that support HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.

Chipset, RAM and Storage

The Redmi 3S comes in two storage editions of 16 GB and 32 GB that respectively feature 2 GB of RAM and 3 GB of RAM. Both the variants are powered by Snapdragon 430 chipset, Android Authority reported.

The Meizu M3S also features 2 GB of RAM on its 16 GB model and 3 GB of RAM on its 32 GB variant. The MediaTek MT6750 chipset powers the M3S. The Redmi 3S and Meizu M3S carry support for microSD card on the second slot of the hybrid dual SIM card slot.

Camera, Software and Other Features

The Xiaomi Redmi 3S has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera that is enabled with single LED flash. The 13-megapixel shooter of Meizu M3S is coupled with dual-LED flash. Both the phones have 5-megapixel selfie camera.

The Redmi 3S and Meizu M3S come preinstalled with Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. However, the Xiaomi device has MIUI 7.0 user interface over the Android OS and the Meizu smartphone has Flyme 5.1 UI on top of its operating system. The Redmi 3S has a rear-facing fingerprint sensor whereas the Meizu M3S has it incorporated on its Home button.

Battery and Price

The Redmi 3S is blessed with a 4,100 mAh battery and its rival, Meizu M3S has a smaller battery of 3,020 mAh capacity. The 16 GB and 32 GB models of Redmi 3S are priced at 699 RMB ($109) and 899 RMB ($140), respectively. The Meizu M3S also carry the same pricing for its 16 GB and 32 GB models.
