The 12-inch MacBook 2015 was launched in March this year. Since that time customers could not easily purchase it easily because of infrequent stock. However, after four months, it is now available for personal pickup at several Apple Stores in the U.S.

Mac Rumors claim that Apple has replenished its retail stores with substantial stock of the 12-inch MacBook. However, it states that the Cupertino giant has made personal pickup service available on select configurations.

For instance, the Apple Store at New York, NY is not selling the 256 GB silver model of the new MacBook. However, all the stores have sufficient stock of the space gray colored model with 256 GB storage.

Apple has improved the stocks of 2015 MacBook but it still seems that it difficult to purchase the desired configuration offline. As of this writing, it is not known the reason behind the shortage of MacBook units.

Even though the 2015 MacBook is priced expensively, there has been a huge demand to purchase it online. Since the launch Apple has only made fewer stocks available at Apple stores and Best Buy retail outlets.

Currently, online customers of the new MacBook will have to wait around one to two weeks to receive their ordered units. However, the shipping estimates for online orders of the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro is one business day.

The new MacBook appears quite similar to the MacBook Air, but it is more portable and slimmer. It comes with a Retina Display that is enabled with Force Touch technology.

The 2015 MacBook comes with two connectivity ports, namely the 3.5 mm headphone and microphone combo jack and the USB Type-C connector slot. The device is powered by dual-core Intel Core M processor that does not feature fan or heat pipe. It runs on the latest OS X Yosemite operating system.

The base model of 256 GB storage is available for $1,299. The 512 GB storage model with highest specs is priced at $1,599. It is available in three color options such as gold, silver and space gray.
