Movies have a tendency to bring people together, which is why going to the movie theater is the perfect outing for Mother’s Day. Ahead of the holiday weekend, we have compiled a list of seven of the best films any mom would love to see for Mother’s Day 2017. Check out the list and watch the trailers for each below.

“Snatched”

When Emily’s (Amy Schumer) boyfriend breaks up with her before they can take there pre-paid romantic vacation to South America she ropes in her mother Linda, played by Goldie Hawn, to join her. Her mother’s worst nightmare comes to life when the two get kidnapped and they must fight for their lives. The film marks Hawn’s first movie in 14 years, but it hasn’t exactly been loved by moviegoers and critics. Still, there’s no denying the plot makes it a perfect Mother’s Day film.

“Beauty and the Beast”

It’s a tale as old as time. If mom hasn’t already caught a showing of Disney’s latest masterpiece, take her to a showing of the live-action remake. The movie has a little bit of everything - love, drama, adventure, and of course, music. Emma Watson stars as Belle with Luke Evans as villain Gaston, Dan Stevens as the Beast and Josh Gad as sidekick LeFou.

“Gifted”

Prepare for a solid cry if you plan to take your mom to this family drama on Mother’s Day. The film stars Chris Evans as a single man named Frank trying to raise his 7-year-old niece Mary (McKenna Grace). Things appear to be going well for the pair until Frank’s mother Evelyn (Lindsay Duncan) realizes the girl is mathematically gifted and tries to take her away. Jenny Slate and Octavia Spencer also star.

“The Boss Baby”

If animated comedies are more of your mom’s thing, “The Boss Baby” is the perfect choice. Alec Baldwin voices a baby who joins a family only for his new 7-year-old brother to discover he’s not what he seems - he’s secretly an agent waging the war between babies and adorable puppies. Maybe his business suit gave him away.

“The Fate of the Furious”

Moms who love a good action flick will be thrilled to catch the latest installment for the “Fast and Furious” franchise. “The Fate of the Furious” follows Dominic Toretto’s (Vin Diesel) family as the try to save him from the newest villain, played by Charlize Theron. Franchise stars Jason Statham, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kurt Russell, Michelle Rodriguez and more reprise their roles.

“King Arthur: Legend of the Sword”

Action, adventure and drama, the latest re-telling of “King Arthur” has it all. The Guy Ritchie directed film stars Charlie Hunnam as King Arthur. The film follows the classic tale of Arthur pulling the sword from the stone and being forced to understand his complicated legacy. Judge Law and Eric Bana also star.

“Paris Can Wait”

This 2016 film is getting a limited release just in time for Mother’s Day. Originally titled “Bonjour Anne,” the movie follows Anne (Diana Lane) as she takes a road trip with her successful filmmaker husband’s (Alec Baldwin) business associate to Paris. They end of taking a few detours along the way and adventure follows. The film is written and directed by Eleanor Coppola.
