Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are heading for a divorce, and everyone is shocked, including Adele.

The “Hello” singer admitted during her concert at the Madison Square Garden in New York that she was surprised by the news. Adele also said that while she understands that their relationship is none of her business, she is still saddened by the split.

“It’s an end of an era,” the “When We Were Young” singer said, according to Vulture.

Adele then went on to say that she’s dedicating the show to the couple.

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt, according to TMZ, after two years of marriage and 10 years of being together. The “By the Sea” actress reportedly cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for wanting to nullify their marriage. Jolie asked to have full physical custody of their six children -- Maddox, Zahara, Vivienne, Shiloh, Pax and Knox -- and to only give Pitt visitation rights.

There are a lot of theories as to why the two parted ways. There have been reports saying the two did not agree on how to parent their children. Rumors of Pitt having an affair with “Allied” co-star Marion Cotillard also started swirling.

Pitt has already addressed the issue. In a statement obtained by People, the actor said: “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”

Jolie has also released a statement via her attorney, saying the decision to end the relationship was for the “health of the family.” The actress’s attorney also said that it is the only statement the actress will give out and that she hopes people will respect their privacy.
