Microsoft and Japanese developer KLab recently announced their licensing agreement, in which KLab will develop ports for “Age of Empires” for iOS and Android in a free-to-play model. According to the Independent UK, the port will be based on "Age of Empires Online" as opposed to the series’ more popular PC iterations and will be released by the end of the 2013 fiscal year.

In a statement, Microsoft clarified that game play for iOS and Android will not include Xbox Live support.

“Some reports included incorrect information about additional Xbox Live-based games on iOS and Android, but there are no further announcements beyond 'Age of Empires' at this time.”

There is also currently no news about if other Microsoft games will be released for iOS or Android at this point.
