“Marvel’s Agent Carter” Season 1 has released a new trailer, and it’s pretty clear that the Spice Girls were not the first British ladies to bring girl power to the U.S. Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) will be doing some major butt-kicking in her new show, which follows her life post-“Captain America: The First Avenger” in 1946.

“Sometimes the best man for the job is a woman,” the promo’s narrator says.

The tagline certainly fits with the latest “Marvel’s Agent Carter” synopsis. The summary stated that although Peggy Carter worked as a secret agent, she “lived in a different time when women weren’t recognized as being as smart or as tough as their male counterparts. But no one should ever underestimate Peggy.”

The promo starts with Peggy pulling up her stockings and cuts to a gun being pulled out of a jewelry box. Then the action starts. “Marvel’s Agent Carter” appears to have plenty of stunts and special effects. Agent Carter punches a man, escapes from explosions and shoots people in the promo.

The 15-second trailer focuses on Agent Carter, so fans are still waiting to see Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper), Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy) and the rest of the cast. However, those first glimpses of the cast should be coming soon. The trailer announced that the series would definitely premiere in January 2015, though a specific date was not given.

The “Marvel’s Agent Carter” trailer also referred to the series as “an eight-part television event.” So this might be the only season of the show. It's at least the only season planned.

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” will premiere in January on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on ABC after “Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” goes on hiatus. Does the trailer make you want to tune in for the new Marvel series?
