Grant Ward is back in action on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 2, and a new sneak peek video shows his softer side. The double agent (Brett Dalton) left the midseason finale with Agent 33 (Ming-Na Wen/Maya Stojan) after Skye (Chloe Bennet) shot him. The two are still together and seem pretty happy in episode 14 -- or at least as content as two ex-agents holding someone at gunpoint can be. Meanwhile, Skye is too worried about her powers to think about Ward. Her abilities are turning out to be more than her body can handle.

Sneak Peek No. 1:

In the video, Ward and Agent 33 seem to be having a quiet breakfast at a diner. Agent 33 is still stuck wearing a damaged mask of May’s face, but otherwise, they seem completely normal as they fill in viewers on what they’ve been up to since they were last seen. Agent 33 questions Ward’s choice of pancakes for dinner.

“Hey, I tried being the meat and potatoes guy,” he says.

“Well, I didn’t know that guy, but the guy sitting across from me isn’t so bad,” Agent 33 smiles.

“Says the girl who saved my a-- back in Puerto Rico, nursed me back to health."

“Well, what else was I going to do?” the brainwashed agent asks. “After Whitehall was killed, I was just … lost.”

Ward sees a man leaving and says they’re not going to get their food. Agent 33 pulls out her gun and tells everyone to get down while Ward shoots the security cameras. They approach the man, and he offers his wallet, but they want his knowledge, not his money. “You’re coming with us,” 33 says. “You’re going to fix my face.”

Sneak Peek No. 2:

In the second sneak peek video, Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) and Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) are on opposing sides once again. Skye is covered in bruises and stress rashes after it was revealed that she cannot stop her powers. She has discovered that she can only redirect them inward. When Simmons checks out Skye’s bruises, Skye feels helpless.

“It could just be growing pains, from the new power,” Fitz suggests.

“It’s OK, Fitz,” Skye says. “You don’t have to put a positive spin on this.”

“I’m not doing that. I would never patronize -- things change. That’s what I’m saying. So maybe if you could learn to control this, then you could have Avengers-level powers. Something like Captain America, even,” he says.

Simmons is quick to stop Fitz from daydreaming. Even if Skye’s powers are on that level, she’d likely be more comparable to the Hulk, whose powers are much less stable. Fitz points out that the Hulk still saves the world.

“You’re absolutely right,” Simmons notes, “But given the choice, I believe Bruce Banner would not hesitate to cure himself once and for all.”

As Simmons and Fitz argue, Skye starts to get even more stressed, and the S.H.I.E.L.D. plane starts to shake.
