UK-based Air Partner has ventured into the expanding market of pre-owned commercial aircraft sales with the launch of its aviation 'matchmaking' service, the company said in a statement recently.

Established in 1961, the group is a leading provider of aviation services to industry, commerce, governments and individuals worldwide.

The launch of the new service is regarded as an obvious progression by the company after its successful ACMI contracts and long-term leasing arrangements.

We are playing a pivotal role in helping with the placement of aircraft worldwide. Our position in the commercial jet leasing and charter market means that we are especially well placed to undertake this role. Having established initial airline-to-airline interest, we are able to introduce interested purchasers to aircraft lessors or financial agencies arranging sales, said Pietro Perrotta, an Air Partner senior sub-charter and leasing specialist.

The group is currently working with a European legacy carrier to place three 180-seats Airbus A320-200s and with another operator who is selling a 37-seat Embraer 135 regional jet.

In addition, the company is also working to place 11 aircrafts in the market, including A330s and Boeing 737, 767 and 777 jets, on behalf of four airlines, two of which are flag carriers.
