University of Alabama wide receiver DeAndrew White will miss a trip to the White House to celebrate the team's national championship after suffering a concussion early Thursday morning.

TideSports.com reported that White has been hospitalized following an altercation on University Boulevard. It's unclear exactly how he suffered the concussion, though there was another incident on that street that left a man with severe head injuries.

There was another report of shots being fired in White's vicinity, but little is known about his actual involvement.

White had 14 receptions for 151 yards and two touchdowns for the national champion Crimson Tide in 2011. SB Nation reports that he was expected to compete for significant playing time in 2012 with wide receivers Marquis Maze and Darius Hanks leaving the program.
