HTC’s upcoming premium handset dubbed the “HTC A9,” also referred as “HTC Aero,” is apparently gearing up for release as several photos of the handset have been leaked from China.

An alleged render of the HTC A9 cropped up, and it looked a lot like the Apple iPhone 6, especially from the rear side. Even though, the photo was initially misconstrued as a photoshopped version, the render was made keeping the reported configurations in mind, Phone Arena reported. The back side of the iPhone 6 looks similar to the flagships HTC One (M7) and HTC One (M8). Therefore, there are speculation that HTC cannot be cornered for building a device that resembles the Apple handset.

Going by the freshly leaked images ferreted out of China's micro-blogging site Weibo, the HTC A9 specifications include a 5.5-inch display, along with 2.5D curved glass protection. Under the hood, the handset comes powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset, with a deca-core processor on board. In addition to the powerful processor, the handset will apparently flaunt a phenomenal camera unit. In addition, the A9 is backed by 4 GB of RAM.

Meanwhile, similar to other high-end HTC devices, this A9 will also be featuring an all-metal body. Moreover, the smartphone will reportedly be offered in two colors namely Tyrant Gold and Dark Gray. According to Phone Arena, AT&T will be selling the device upon release, and the device is expected to be priced between $470 and $626.

Speaking of HTC A9 release date, the smartphone will reportedly hit the store shelves sometime in the next quarter.
