Amal Alamuddin, George Clooney’s New Fiancée, Reportedly 'Bragging' About Their Engagement

One of Hollywood’s serial bachelors, George Clooney, recently popped the question to his girlfriend, lawyer Amal Alamuddin, a proposal which the actor’s new leading lady reportedly can’t stop bragging about.

Alamuddin, 36, who is rumored to have recently accepted the “Gravity” actor’s hand in marriage, is reportedly smitten with her engagement to the 52-year-old film star. “[She] has been bragging to her pals that she has finally got George Clooney to commit,” reads one report from ShowBizSpy.com. “Amal is a low-key woman, sources say, but is quite delighted to have bagged herself one of the world’s most-eligible bachelors.”

According to multiple reports, the couple of seven months agreed to take the marital plunge only recently, when Clooney proposed during a getaway to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. While the duo have yet to publicly comment on their engagement, an insider close to Clooney has since confirmed their upcoming nuptials.

“George and Amal are trying to keep things very low-key but they also aren’t really trying to hide this, it doesn’t seem,” an insider told People magazine. “I think it's like they want the people they love to know that this is real, that they plan on being together forever."

Rumors of Clooney’s engagement to Alamuddin, a successful international law and human rights barrister in the U.K, sparked after the brunette was seen sporting a ring on her engagement finger while dining with her actor beau in Malibu on Thursday. Following the spotting, Clooney’s rep refused to comment on the duo’s engagement, saying, “I don’t comment on my client’s personal life.”

Clooney was first spotted with Alamuddin in October leaving Berners Tarvern restaurant in London. The couple have been spotted out together multiple times during their seven-month courtship, mostly recently vacationing in the Republic of Seychelles last month.

This union will be the second for Clooney, who was previously married to “Mad Men” actress Talia Balsam for three years before divorcing in 1993. Most recently, Clooney was linked to former WWE star and model, Stacy Keibler. The couple split last July.
