American Horror Story: Cult
Ally Mayfair-Richards (Sarah Paulson) meets with the local cult leader on “American Horror Story: Cult” episode 8. FX

With each well thought out plan and murder on “American Horror Story: Cult,” Kai seems to be inching closer to gaining the power he so desperately craves. However, it’s clear not everyone is interested in him succeeding. On episode 8, “Winter of Our Discontent,” Kai’s once loyal followers will be more interested in carrying out their own goals than serving their leader.

Before tuning into the FX series, check out these 3 things you should expect to see in “AHS: Cult,” episode 8.

1. Beverly Will Lead A Revolt

American Horror Story: Cult
Beverly Hope (Adina Porter) will question Kai’s (Evan Peters) leadership on “American Horror Story: Cult” episode 8. FX

Although Beverly (Adina Porter) was initially in full support of Kai (Evan Peters) and his mission to gain power, it seems like the newscaster has plans of her own. In the promo for “American Horror Story: Cult” episode 8, Beverly can be seen talking to Winter (Billie Lourd) and Ivy (Alison Pill), explaining that they will need to cut off the head of the snake in order for the army to fall. Although she doesn’t name anyone in particular, she is most likely referring to Kai.

In the previous episodes of the FX series, Kai’s cult began to grow, and the new following was predominately men, who overshadowed the few women in the group. Beverly seemed scorned by Kai’s new position in power, seeing as he initially promised her that they would share equal power, but now he is the only one getting the respect of a true leader. How far will Beverly go to attain the power that was once promised to her?

2. Winter Begins To Questions Where She Stands

Although Winter is close to her brother, Kai, it seems like their relationship is beginning to unravel, after he found out she was meeting with the other women of the cult without informing him. In the promo for “Winter of Our Discontent,” Beverly asks Winter if she really thinks Kai wouldn’t kill her if it meant he was one step closer to power.

Even though Winter insists that her brother would never hurt her, he is seen telling her that it is time for her to learn her place. Is Kai capable of killing his sister in the name of power?

3. Ally Begins To Make Sense Of The Incidents That Have Transpired

Ally (Sarah Paulson) has been struggling to come to terms with her many phobias. Although she once had them under control, Meadow (Leslie Grossman) revealed that the reason why she was coming undone was because Ivy was purposefully driving her insane as a part of Kai’s plan. However, it seems like Ivy is having second thoughts when it comes to betraying Ally, because she left her alive when the cult went on their latest murder mission.

In the promo for the FX series, Ally can be seen speaking with Kai, telling him that he has something she wants. Could Ally be referring to her wife?

Later on in the video, she can be seen confronting her therapist, Dr. Vincent (Cheyenne Jackson), accusing him of helping Kai get in her head. Although it is unclear how she figured out that her therapist helped Kai, viewers are aware that he is Kai’s older brother. In the past, Vincent has helped Kai hide their parents’ bodies, so there is no telling what he would be willing to do when it comes to lending his brother a helping hand.

“American Horror Story: Cult” episode 8 airs Tuesday at 10 p.m. EDT on FX.
