‘America’s Got Talent’
Will Angelina Green win “America’s Got Talent” Season 12? NBC

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 is close to releasing its first live episode!

As of late, six of the seven contestants who have already made it straight to the lives are singers. Judge Mel B was the first one to use her golden buzzer on Darci Lynne Farmer. Even though she is labeled as a ventriloquist, Farmer and her puppet, Petunia, sung during their auditions. Simon Cowell gave his golden buzzer to deaf singer Mandy Harvey on week two of the auditions. The 29-year-old touched everyone’s heart with her story. She also surprised everyone with her ability to sing in tune despite not hearing anything.

Howie Mandel also gifted 16-year-old formerly blind contestant Christian Guardino with his golden buzzer. Guardino’s story is also a very touching one just like that of Harvey’s. The young boy lost all of his sight at a very young age, but thanks to a medical experiment, his vision improved when he was 12. On week five, judge Heidi Klum gave Angelina Green her golden buzzer. The teenager also sung her heart out with Carrie Underwood’s hit song, “I’ll Stand By You.”

Meanwhile, two judge cuts round have already aired on NBC. On the first episode, “Talking Dead” host and funny man Chris Hardwick gave 9-year-old singer Angelica Hale her much-deserved golden buzzer. The Filipino-American singer sung Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire.” This week, music producer DJ Khaled was so impressed with Chase Goehring’s talent and artistry that he also gave him his golden buzzer. Goehring sung a second original song, and Khaled told him post-performance that they should work together.

Host Tyra Banks gave her golden buzzer to the Light Balance dancers, the only non-singing contestant in Season 12 that will advance straight to the live shows. Last season, golden buzzer recipient Grace Vanderwaal was named as the winner of Season 11. She was Mandel’s choice, and she also wrote and sung her original songs on live television. The singers this year are once again considered standout, but it is unclear if any one of the golden buzzer recipient will bring home the $1 million grand prize.

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
