‘America’s Got Talent’
Will Evie Clair make it to the live shows in “America’s Got Talent” Season 12? NBC

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 will feature Evie Clair in Tuesday night’s judge cuts round.

NBC dropped a sneak peek of the 13-year-old’s performance which revealed that she will be singing Macy Gray’s hit song, “I Try.” However, Clair will put her signature spin on the song, and her emotional rendition will even leave Mel B in tears. Judge Howie Mandel and guest judge DJ Khaled both look at Clair intently while she sings her heart out. In the teaser, the audience members appear to be equally engrossed in her performance as they remained silent throughout her act.

The young girl first captured the hearts of the judges during her recent audition. At the time, Clair sang Christina Perri’s song, “Arms.” The Florence native also shared that her dad has been battling stage four cancer. In order to help her dad with his painful battle, Clair typically sings to him as her way of turning his bad days into better ones.

Unfortunately, Clair did not receive a golden buzzer from any of the judges during her first performance. And by the looks of it, DJ Khaled also won’t be giving her a golden buzzer in the judge cuts round. But Clair’s “I Try” performance may earn her a spot in the top seven.

Previously, NBC revealed that 20 acts will audition during the four judge cuts episode, but only seven acts will make it to the next round every week. The acts that made it through last week included Chris Hardwick’s golden buzzer recipient, Angelica Hale, Demian Aditya, The Singing Trump, Just Jerk, Sara Carson & Hero, Eric Jones and the Masqueraders.

Those who didn’t make the cut included the Dancing Pumpkin Man, Tom London, Yosein Chi, Danylo & Oskar and more. Some of the eliminated contestants who made it to the judge cuts may be asked to return as wild cards if the judges feel that they deserve a second chance.

This week, some of the contestants who will compete in the second judge cuts include Puddles Pity Party, Kechi Okwuchi, Chase Goehring and more.

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
