Bosnian-born model Andrej Pejic is once again embroiled in controversy; this time for posing as a model for a Dutch department store, Hema. While this may not seem very a controversial statement, the fact is that Pejic is actually a man... and he modeled a dress and a push-up bra... making him look rather uncannily like a woman.

The news has spread across the Internet in almost no time and it has people talking and tweeting, frantically, about it. While some are shocked, some find it hilarious and some others think it a revolution.

Pejic found himself at the center of another debate, earlier this year, when readers of the U.S. edition of FHM ranked him 98 in a list of the 100 sexiest women for 2011. Rather predictably, the magazine came under fire for reportedly making derogatory comments about Pejic's gender.

In the concerned article, FHM referred to Pejic as a gender bender and commented, beneath a photograph of Pejic, that he had jumped the gun in hoping he might one day be signed as a Victoria's Secret Model (pass the sick bucket).

The magazine later released a statement, saying they regretted the accompanying copy and apologized for any offence caused. FHM has spoken to the individual concerned and taken steps to ensure this can never happen again.

I know people want me to sort of defend myself, to sit here and be like, 'I'm a boy but I wear make-up sometimes.' But, you know, to me it really doesn't matter, Pejic said, in August interview with New York magazine, after remaining silent on the issue for some time.

The 20-year-old model, known to be able to work both as a male and female model, has always been part of some controversy or the other.

I don't really have that sort of strong gender identity - I identify as what I am, Pejic said, The fact that people are using it for creative or marketing purposes, it's just kind of like having a skill and using it to earn money.

My whole life is controversy. What can I do? I'm like Britney Spears! he concluded, with a touch of whimsy.

Here are a few pictures of the model...
