As it turns out, a new video has surfaced online showcasing the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Sony Xperia Z3. In addition, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo has also been confirmed by the South Korean conglomerate.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update For Sony Xperia Z3

According to Phone Arena, the 2014 flagship Sony Xperia Z3 was updated to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop in March. But now, Sony is seemingly gearing up to release the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Xperia Z3. A video of the Z3 handset tied to the model number D6603 version has been spotted running the Android 5.1.1 OS by a Website called Wayerless. (Scroll down to check out the video.)

Speaking of changes and new features, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update will reportedly offer new animations. Plus, a brand new feature will apparently let the users to find a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection straight out of the Quick Settings menu. To top it off, the Quick Settings menu page has reportedly been remodeled with brand new icons design.

On the other hand, the Japanese tech giant has not given out much information about the Lollipop OS schedule for the entire Xperia Z series of devices. But then, the leaked videos apparently show Sony is testing the Lollipop OS on the current-generation devices, as well as the old models. To further corroborate the news, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Sony Xperia Z2 tied to model number D6503 was recently spotted online.

Speaking of the Lollipop OS penetration in global markets, the Australian mobile operator Telstra complained about a build of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for Sony Xperia Z, Sony Xperia Z1 and Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, which apparently brought in several showstopper issues. Therefore, the testing of the Lollipop OS for the aforementioned devices will reportedly resume on July 10. In case, the new build does not cause any major issues, Telstra will apparently roll out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to Sony Xperia Z line-up in August.

Android 5.0 Lollipop Update For Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo

Samsung is seemingly making headway in updating its old handsets to the latest software. Apparently, a few months back, Samsung France confirmed the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Galaxy Note 3 Neo, writes GSM Arena. But now, the Netherland’s division of the South Korean tech giant has reportedly confirmed the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo. While the France unit of Samsung confirmed the roll out date generically as “later this year,” the Netherlands unit has not confirmed the release date yet. If nothing, this news confirms that Galaxy Note 3 Neo users are covered by the company and therefore, it is a matter of time before users get the Lollipop update.
