The Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Sony Xperia Z series of devices is reportedly scheduled for this week. In addition, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for Nexus 9 and Nexus 7 has officially been rolled out. Here are some details about the new updates:

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop For HTC Nexus 9

According to GSM Arena, Google has started sending out the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for the Nexus 9 tablet. The company announced via its Google+ account that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for HTC Nexus 9 would roll out May 7, so Nexus 9 owners can now check their devices for notification on the update. As with other Android devices, the update will be sent out in phases, hence Nexus 9 owners are advised to wait a few days if they don't receive immediate notification.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop For Nexus 7

Google recently rolled out the Android 5.1.1 OTA update for Nexus 10. However, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Nexus 7 2012, with Wi-Fi-only connectivity, has started rolling out as an OTA firmware update in India. Reportedly, the downloadable file size is 9.6 MB. Upon installing the update, the build number on the Nexus 7 should read: LMY47V. It is worth noting that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for Nexus 7 is a minor update to the Android 5.1. The new update reportedly comes with performance and stability improvement tweaks, along with several bug fixes, Fone Arena notes.

Android 5.1 Lollipop For Sony Xperia Z Series Of Devices

According to Xperia Blog, Sony’s Philippines division has apparently confirmed the release date of the Android 5.1 Lollipop for Sony Xperia Z series. This firmware update will reportedly be rolled out to Xperia Z handsets this week, Sony said via an official tweet. Corroborating this report, the Australian carrier Telstra has posted a list of Xperia Z phones eligible for Android Lollipop update. This Telstra-specific list includes the Sony Xperia Z, Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Compact. Here is the tweet corroborating the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Xperia Z:
