Among the smartphone OEMs, Motorola has been quite quick in releasing Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates for its smartphones. It is also expected to roll out Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for Moto devices this quarter.

Moto X Pure Edition and Moto X Style

The users of 2015 smartphone, Moto X Pure Edition on Sprint and U.S. Cellular have received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The same handset is known as Moto X Style in other markets. Its users in Brazil, India and Europe have received the latest Android build, Android Central reported.

Moto X Play, Droid Maxx 2, Moto X Force, and Droid Turbo 2

Motorola is yet to release Android 6.0 update for Moto X Play that is known as Verizon Droid Maxx 2 in the U.S. The Verizon exclusive Droid Turbo 2 has finally started receiving Android 6.0 upgrade after the initial soak test.

The same smartphone is available as Moto X Force outside the U.S. In some markets, Android 6.0 has reportedly arrived for Moto X Force users.

Moto G and Moto E

The Android M update is now available for Moto G (2015) users in various parts of the world including the U.S. and Europe. The upgrade is currently unavailable for Moto E (2015) owners.

Moto X (2014), Moto G (2014), and Moto E (2014)

In December 2015, Motorola released the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Moto X (2014) users. The Moto G as well as its LTE variant is now receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade, Android Authority reported. The older Moto E (2014) is unlikely to receive Android M update.

Moto 360

Both first-generation and second-generation Moto 360 smartwatches have the most recent edition of Android Wear 1.4 that is based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS, Droid Life reported.

The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is a minor upgrade over 6.0 version. It will bring performance improvements and more than 200 emojis. Except for Moto 360 smartwatch, there is no Motorola smartphone currently running on 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
