A sassy feline known as the Anfield Cat is making waves after sashaying its way on the field in Anfield stadium during an England football match between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur on Feb. 6.

A Twitter account with the handle @AnfieldCat opened Monday and had more than 22,000 followers as of Tuesday morning.

The cat is feeling territorial: a lot of copycat twitter accounts around, I can confirm this is the official.

The kitty also poked fun at a Liverpool team member: in my 3 minute cameo I've ran past more players than Stewart Downing has all season.

This isn't the first time an animal has disrupted a football match. The Guardian pointed out that a fox disrupted a 1996 match and made a quick getaway.

This also isn't the first time an animal has had its own Twitter account.

When a snake escaped its cage at the Bronx Zoo in New York City in early 2011, a Twitter account with the handle @BronxZoosCobra opened up, chronicling the snake's supposed escapades throughout the Big Apple.

That cobra is still tweeting.

It wrote the following message about the Puppy Bowl on Feb. 5: These puppies are so cute I could just eat them up. No, seriously, I could eat them up.
