Animal Kingdom
On “Animal Kingdom” Season 2, episode 11, Pope (Shawn Hatosy) begins to second guess Smurf’s (Ellen Barkin) order to murder Catherine (Daniella Alonso). TNT

Although the Cody brothers pulled off another successful heist without Smurf, it looks like their luck has finally run out. On “Animal Kingdom” Season 2, episode 11, the men will be pulled into a new situation that may not necessarily go as planned, while Baz works on destroying everything that Smurf values.

“Baz (Scott Speedman) puts his plan to take down Smurf (Ellen Barkin) in motion as Marco (Joseph Julian Soria) cashes in a favor with Craig (Ben Robson) and Deran (Jake Weary),” the synopsis for “The Leopard” teases.

In the promo for the upcoming episode of the TNT series, Lucy (Carolina Guerra) can be seen asking Baz if he trusts J (Finn Cole). Baz doesn’t answer the question directly, and instead replies that he knows how to handle him.

Later on, Smurf can be heard asking someone, most likely Baz, what else they have left to threaten her with. Baz is then seen in Smurf’s house, telling her that she will get to keep her family.

Elsewhere, Craig can is seen running into Deran’s, bar carrying a body over his shoulder. Could it be Marco? In episode 9, Marco agreed to help Craig and Deran in the yacht heist if they helped him with something else, however, he never revealed how they would pay back the favor.

From the looks of the “Animal Kingdom” Season 2, episode 11 promo, whatever he asks of the two brothers doesn’t end well, considering Deran is seen chasing someone down an alleyway and tackling them down to the ground.

“Meanwhile, Pope (Shawn Hatosy) seeks the truth behind the reasons for Catherine’s (Daniella Alonso) death,” the synopsis for “The Leopard” says. Since Smurf told Pope to kill Catherine in Season 1, the eldest Cody brother has been struggling with guilt.

Not only did he love Catherine, but she was his brother’s wife and Lena’s (Aamya Deva Keroles) mother. Pope began to feel bad when Baz struggled to be a single dad, and even helped out when it came to watching and entertaining Lena.

Once Baz began investigating Catherine’s disappearance, he came back to Pope with information, revealing that she had thousands of dollars in a savings account and that she had been contacted by law enforcement about the family.

However, Baz has insisted that Catherine would never betray him and talk to police which has had Pope doubting his mother’s choice to get rid of her.

“You told me she talked,” Pope tells Smurf in the promo.

“He lied,” she replies.

Pope can later be seen holding Smurf by the neck and throwing her against the wall. Could Pope have finally reached his breaking point with his mother?

It’s no secret that Pope has been giving Smurf the cold shoulder this season because of the murder, but with Baz seeking revenge against the woman who raised it, it seems like Pope wants to settle things in his family before it falls apart.

“Animal Kingdom” Season 2, episode 11, airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. EDT on TNT.
