Ansel Elgort has opened up about what it was like to work with Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm and Kevin Spacey on the set of the upcoming musical action film “Baby Driver.”

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Elgort revealed that Foxx and Hamm had been very supportive of him during the entire process of making the movie. “He really spreads the love, and he’s so supportive of everything,” Elgort said of Foxx. “As a young actor walking onto this set — and this goes for Jon as well — I was so excited to do this movie, but I didn’t expect any kind of relationship with these guys, where they would be so supportive. They’ve become [my] mentors.”

In fact, Elgort — who is also a musician and DJ — revealed that Foxx invited him to his house to hear his music. “He's been so supportive through everything, and it’s just awesome because it made this process so much more fun,” the 23-year-old actor said.

As for working with two-time Oscar winner Spacey, Elgort told Access Hollywood: “It was a dream come true. As a young male actor you really want to work with guys you looked up to your whole life.”

During an interview with a group of reporters on the Atlanta set of “Baby Driver” last April, Elgort said that the Edgar Wright-directed film is “the sickest movie set” he’s ever been because everyone on set is a huge movie star. “It’s really, really cool for me to be able to just like be on a scene daily with somebody,” Elgort said. “[But] I’ve never worked with such a great cast, especially male actors, and this is like certainly a very like male movie star heavy cast and it’s so sick to [be] like — ‘Okay, now I’m doing a scene with Kevin Spacey, now I’m doing a scene with Jamie Foxx, now I’m doing a scene with Jon Hamm.’ … As like a young guy, a lot of the time sometimes older actors can be like — I don’t know, maybe condescending to younger guys or whatever, but I feel like we’re all here just having a great time and we’re all equals.”

“Baby Driver” tells the story of a young and talented getaway driver named Baby (Elgort) who relies on the personal beat of his preferred soundtrack to be the best in the world of crime. After meeting the girl of his dreams (Lily James), Baby sees a chance to ditch his shady lifestyle and start a clean life. But after being coerced into working for a mysterious criminal named Doc (Kevin Spacey), he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.

Foxx plays the role of Bats, the impulsive gun-slinging cohort of Doc’s bank robbing crew, while Hamm portrays Buddy, one of the film’s villains.

“Baby Driver,” which also stars Jon Bernthal, Eiza González and Flea, opens in theaters on June 28. Watch the trailer for the film below:
