Marvel has revealed a new poster for “Ant-Man.” It features Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) riding an ant and trying to dodge a barrage of bullets. The diminutive hero is a wearing a red and gray "super suit" and has one hand in a fist. The caption reads: “Ant-Man: Heroes Don’t Get Any Bigger.”

The image was tweeted by Marvel yesterday.

"Ant-Man" concerns a thief, Scott Lang, who must aid his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, in safeguarding the Ant-Man technology, which helps its owner to decrease in size but increase in strength. Lang will acquire the Ant-Man suit and will plot a heist that will save Earth.

Peyton Reed has directed the film from the screenplay by Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish, Adam McKay and Rudd. It is based on the comic book of the same name by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Jack Kirby. The star cast consists of Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip "T.I." Harris, Wood Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, and Michael Douglas.

Rudd’s character will not be a traditional hero. According to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Ant-Man will do “unsavory things like break into people’s houses and still be charming,” Empire Magazine reported via Collider.

"We changed, frankly, some of the MCU [Marvel Cinematic Universe] to accommodate this version of Ant-Man. Look at that origin of the petty crook who comes into contact with a suit and does his best to make good, and then look at someone like Paul Rudd, who you root for and whose redemption you will find satisfaction in,” he added.

Rudd has reportedly worked hard to achieve a lean physique in order to look convincing as Scott Lang/Ant-Man. “I’ve been working with trainers and cut stuff out of my diet: alcohol, fried foods, carbs,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

“Ant-Man” will open in the theaters July 17 in 3D and IMAX 3D.
