Apple has filed a lawsuit this week against Samsung Electronics in Germany to ban the sale of Samsung smartphones in the country, according to a report.

As per the report in Bloomberg the lawsuit targeting 10 smartphones was filed in the Dusseldorf Regional Court. This will include the Galaxy S Plus and the S2.

The lawsuit follows up on Apple's attempt to seek a ban in Australia on Samsung's tablet products, especially the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Apple argued that at least 10 of its patents were being violated by Samsung. After a lengthy battle, however, the High Court ruled in favor of Samsung.

Apple has also filed a suit targeting Samsung tablets. Last month, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab 10.1N that featured a new bezel and a slightly modified design. Apple filed a new complaint seeking to ban sales of the tweaked model, but the Dusseldorf court said it was unlikely to grant an injunction against the redesigned tablet. The Galaxy 10.1N is a modified version introduced after sales of the original 10.1 tablet were blocked.
